Nebius Signs $27bn AI Infrastructure Deal With Meta

Dutch artificial intelligence company Nebius has signed a five-year agreement valued at $27 billion to provide artificial intelligence infrastructure to social media giant Meta Platforms.

The Amsterdam-based firm disclosed that the agreement includes $12 billion worth of computing capacity to be delivered from the beginning of next year across multiple locations.

Nebius also confirmed that Meta has committed to purchase an additional $15 billion in computing capacity over the next five years as demand for AI processing power continues to rise.

The company operates in the rapidly expanding “neocloud” sector, which focuses on building data centres optimised for artificial intelligence workloads. Firms in this segment provide large-scale computing resources to major technology companies rather than requiring them to build and operate their own infrastructure.

Competitors in the space include Nscale and CoreWeave, which similarly supply high-performance computing capacity for AI applications.

The outsourcing model allows technology giants to access large volumes of computing power while reducing the complexity and financial risk associated with building and maintaining dedicated AI infrastructure.

Chief Executive Officer Arkady Volozh said the agreement strengthens the relationship between the two companies.

“We are pleased to expand our significant partnership with Meta as part of securing more large, long-term capacity contracts,” Volozh said.
