Akhigbe Turns 60, Donates to Lion’s Motherless Children’s Home

Renowned philanthropist and businessman, Mr. Joe Akhigbe, chose a truly remarkable way to celebrate his 60th birthday, spending the special day at the Lion’s Motherless Children’s Home in Lekki Phase 1. The milestone celebration was marked by an outpouring of love, laughter, and significant contributions aimed at uplifting the lives of the children.

The atmosphere at the home was electric as Mr. Akhigbe joined the children in spirited dancing, bringing joy and smiles to every face. A highlight of the celebration was a dance competition, where several children showcased their impressive moves and were deservedly rewarded with special gifts for their talent and enthusiasm.

Demonstrating his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, Mr. Akhigbe made substantial donations to the home, including a generous cash gift of One Million Naira (N1,000,000). In addition to the monetary contribution, he provided essential items such as numerous cartons of noodles, comfortable mattresses, packs of diapers, various laundry items, and a wide array of other nourishing food supplies. His benevolent gesture was further amplified by the support of his friends and family members, who also made heartfelt donations to the children’s home.

Addressing the children, Mr. Akhigbe imparted words of wisdom and encouragement, urging them to dedicate themselves to their studies and strive for excellence. “We are here to felicitate with you,” Mr. Akhigbe stated warmly, recalling his previous visit, “We were here when I turned 50, and we are here today.” He then made a significant pledge, promising to provide Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) annually to support their educational pursuits, a commitment met with resounding applause and gratitude.

Reflecting on the joyous occasion, Mr. Akhigbe expressed his profound appreciation. “Thank you for the opportunity to be with the children, and it’s a privilege to be here,” he concluded, his words echoing the genuine warmth and compassion that defined the day’s events.

On her part, Caroline Inegbedion, Director, Lagos State Government Motherless Babies Home expressed gratitude to the celebrant for his choice to celebrate his 60th birthday anniversary in their home and prayed that, he will celebrate more years in good health and prosperity.
