Tinubu Vows to Tackle Fresh Security Challenges, Reassures Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged new security challenges in Nigeria and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens.

In a statement marking the second anniversary of his administration on May 29, 2025, Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts by the Nigerian armed forces to combat insecurity, particularly in regions previously controlled by bandits.

He emphasized that security agencies have successfully rescued abducted citizens and restored order in parts of the Northwest, allowing farmers to return to their fields and highways to become safer for travelers. Despite concerns raised by Amnesty International, which reported over 10,217 deaths due to attacks by armed groups since Tinubu took office, the president assured Nigerians that his administration remains vigilant and committed to tackling emerging threats.

Tinubu also acknowledged the sacrifices made by Nigerians and expressed confidence that the worst security challenges are behind the country. He pledged to continue working toward a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria where citizens can live without fear
