Ogun LG Chairman Partners Firm To Empower 5,000 Farmers with Fertiliser To Boosts Productivity

Chairman of Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Dr. Olusola Akinbode has partnered with a leading distributor of chemicals, Star Diamond Organisation, to give over 5000 farmers in the council fertiliser to improve productivity of their farm produce.

Akinbode stated that his meeting with the management of the company located at Aiyetoro area of the council was a crucial step in actualising its vision at ensuring food sufficiency and promoting agricultural development in Yewa North Local Government.

He said that the partnership would empowered over 5000 farmers with fertiliser from different clusters across the council boost food security and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots .

The LG Boss noted that the partnership would promote the planned distribution of Dapo Abiodun cash crop seedlings, such as Cocoa, Cashew and Palm oil seedlings, among others.

He maintained that the visit was to seek the management’s collaborative assistant to empower farmers with the firm’s Super Gro Liquid Fertilizer as well as knowledge and resources needed to enhance productivity and improve their livelihood, as well as ensure food security.

Earlier, Leader of the team, Hon. Olufemi Babalola, thanked the council for partnering with the company on Super Gro fertilizer to aid farmers on bountiful harvest.

He assured that, the partnership would go a long way in supporting the farmers at the grassroots level with inputs, such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertiliser to boost their farm yields and enhance their livelihoods.

Babalola, however, announced the giveaway of Super Gro liquid fertilizer, as part of a support to aid the council’s planned farmers’ initiative for free Dapo Abiodun cash crops distribution in the area.
