SunTrust Bank Appoints Kudi Badmus Executive Director

SunTrust Bank Nigeria Limited has appointed Kudi Badmus as Executive Director in a move aimed at strengthening its leadership team and supporting its growth strategy.

Badmus brings more than three decades of experience across banking energy and infrastructure sectors making her one of the most seasoned professionals in the industry. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and holds a degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University.

Her career has been defined by strong expertise in financial management corporate restructuring and strategic expansion across multiple institutions. She previously served as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at Eterna Plc where she played a significant role in capital raising initiatives and business growth.

During her time at Eterna she contributed to strengthening the company’s financial structure and improving operational efficiency while supporting expansion into new markets. Her leadership in managing complex financial systems earned recognition within the sector.

Badmus also held executive roles at ASO Savings and Loans Plc where she was involved in strategic repositioning and operational improvement. Her experience extends to senior positions at Polaris Bank formerly known as Bond Bank and First City Monument Bank where she developed a strong track record in financial oversight and corporate governance.

Industry observers believe her appointment comes at a critical time as SunTrust Bank seeks to expand its footprint and improve performance in a competitive banking environment.

Her extensive experience in financial strategy and corporate governance is expected to contribute significantly to the bank’s long term objectives including improved efficiency stronger capital management and sustainable growth.

Although specific responsibilities attached to her new role have not been publicly detailed analysts say her background in finance and restructuring positions her to play a key role in shaping the bank’s strategic direction.

The appointment reflects a broader trend in the banking sector where institutions are prioritising experienced leadership to navigate regulatory changes technological transformation and evolving customer expectations.
