“I think the UN’s job here is to amplify and to put visibility on the possibilities of mitigating a food security crisis, and this is one of them,” she said.
“I hope that when we go back, we can continue to engage partners and countries that should collaborate with Dangote Industries.”

Her remarks come amid growing concerns over food shortages driven by rising fertiliser costs, supply chain disruptions, and global economic pressures.

Africa continues to face structural food security challenges, worsened by external shocks including geopolitical tensions and climate-related impacts.

President of Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote, outlined the company’s efforts to support regional supply.

The company has increased exports of urea fertiliser and petroleum products to African markets affected by shortages. Its refinery has also shipped multiple cargoes of petrol to stabilise supply.

Dangote noted that feedstock deliveries from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited improved in March but remain below required levels for optimal operations.

Despite these constraints, the company continues to supplement supply through imports while expanding its role in supporting food production and energy stability across the continent.
