Zenith Bank Appoints Kennedy Okwudili as Executive Director

Zenith Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Kennedy Onuwa Okwudili as Executive Director, effective May 1, 2026, reinforcing its internal succession strategy aimed at deepening executive capacity.

The appointment was disclosed in a filing with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, and signed by the bank’s Company Secretary, Michael Otu. The bank noted that the elevation reflects a deliberate effort to groom experienced internal talent for top leadership roles.

Mr. Okwudili brings over 25 years of banking experience spanning credit and marketing, treasury management, compliance, and operations. His career trajectory within the bank has seen him serve across multiple regions and strategic departments.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Maiduguri, an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, and a Master’s degree in Accounting from Veritas University Abuja.

A seasoned professional, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

His executive education portfolio includes programmes at Lagos Business School, Harvard Business School, and Saïd Business School.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he currently serves as President of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria.

The appointment comes on the back of strong financial performance by Zenith Bank. In the nine months to September 2025, the bank reported a pre-tax profit of N917.4 billion, driven by robust interest income growth and improved non-interest revenue streams.
