UBA Launches New Aggregator Model to Strengthen Agency Banking

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has rolled out a new Aggregator Sales Structure to boost its RedPay POS and Agency Banking network, enhancing collaboration with partners and promoting financial inclusion.

The initiative was unveiled at UBA’s inaugural Aggregator Engagement Session held in Lagos, themed “POS-itive Impact: Connecting Agents, Merchants, and Customers”. The event convened aggregators, network managers, and POS partners to align strategies for scaling UBA’s agency banking platform.

Emmanuel Lamptey, UBA’s Executive Director Designate for Digital Banking, described the structure as a milestone in improving access to financial services across Nigeria. He said it would ensure communities are connected to reliable banking services through strengthened partnerships.

Shamsideen Fashola, Head of Digital Banking, explained that the framework empowers aggregators with tools, incentives, and visibility to manage agents effectively, increasing productivity and expanding service to underserved areas.

The platform offers real-time transaction processing, instant settlements, dashboards for performance tracking, and a full suite of services including withdrawals, bill payments, and dispute resolution. Aggregators can also benefit from structured commissions and agent management tools through a dedicated portal.

Adetunji Iyiola, Head of Agency Banking, said the model improves collaboration between the bank, agents, and merchants, enhancing service delivery while supporting the growth of the ecosystem.
