Ikeme Osakwe Named Chairman as Odogwu Resigns from Royal Exchange Plc Board

Royal Exchange Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Ikeme Osakwe as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective January 22, 2026. The decision was approved at the company’s board meeting held on the same date.

Mr. Osakwe takes over from Mr. Kenny Ezenweani Odogwu, who resigned as Chairman. In its statement, the Board expressed gratitude to Mr. Odogwu for his contributions during his tenure, noting his role in guiding the company through key phases of its growth.

A seasoned financial management specialist, Mr. Osakwe brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

He currently serves on the Boards of Oando Plc and other organizations, and previously sat on the Governing Board of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, where he chaired the Board Committee on Revenue and Finance. Royal Exchange Plc expressed confidence that his leadership will strengthen the company’s corporate governance standards and advance its strategic objectives.
