Airtel Africa Repurchases 40,000 Shares in Ongoing Buy-Back

Airtel Africa plc has confirmed the repurchase of 40,000 of its ordinary shares of USD 0.50 each on 12 January 2026. The transaction was carried out through Barclays Capital Securities Limited under the authority granted by shareholders and in line with the revised arrangements announced on 22 September 2025.

The shares were purchased at prices ranging between 359.40 pence and 368.60 pence, with a volume weighted average price of 364.53 pence. The repurchased shares will be cancelled. Following this transaction, Airtel Africa’s total shares in issue stand at 3,655,600,539, including 7,489,044 treasury shares. The total number of voting rights is now 3,648,111,495, which will serve as the denominator for shareholder disclosure requirements under the Financial Conduct Authority’s rules.

The purchases were executed across several trading venues, including the London Stock Exchange, BATS Europe, CHI-X Europe and Turquoise.

Since the launch of the first tranche of its $100 million share buy-back programme on 23 December 2024, Airtel Africa has repurchased a total of 41,205,209 ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price of 153.70 pence per share.
