Pay-TV operator, MultiChoice, has announced another reduction in the prices of its DStv and GOtv decoders, in a move aimed at making entertainment more affordable for households across Nigeria as the festive season approaches.

With the latest adjustment effective from November 1, the price of a DStv decoder has been reduced from ₦10,000 to ₦7,900, while a GOtv decoder now costs ₦6,500. The company also confirmed revised pricing for some accessories, with the DStv dish and GOtenna now retailing at lower rates.

This marks the second major price cut within months. In June, MultiChoice slashed decoder prices by nearly 50 per cent under its “We’ve Got You” campaign, reducing the DStv decoder from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000 and the GOtv decoder from ₦18,600 to ₦9,900.

Speaking on the new adjustment, MultiChoice’s Executive Head of Marketing, Tope Oshunkeye, said the decision reflects the company’s commitment to expanding access to quality entertainment without imposing heavy financial burden on families.

“As the festive season approaches, family gatherings and celebrations become even more meaningful,” Oshunkeye said. “This price reduction allows more households to enjoy local and international content together without straining their budgets. At MultiChoice, we remain committed to ensuring entertainment is within reach for everyone.”

The company noted that the holiday programming lineup will feature children’s shows, Nollywood and international films, as well as major sporting events. Football fans are expected to enjoy matches from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the AFCON, all aired on SuperSport channels.

MultiChoice said the initiative is designed to reward existing customers and attract new subscribers at a time when many households are seeking cost-friendly home entertainment options.
