Fortis Global Insurance Appoints Nomwen Emeghalu as New Managing Director

Fortis Global Insurance Plc has announced a major leadership transition with the resignation of Mr. Paulinus Offorzor as Managing Director/CEO and the appointment of Mrs. Nomwen Imariagbotua Emeghalu as his successor, effective August 27, 2025.

Mr. Offorzor stepped down to pursue personal career goals after leading the company through a transformative phase. The Board expressed deep appreciation for his visionary leadership and contributions to Fortis’ rebirth and repositioning.

Mrs. Emeghalu, appointed during the Board’s meeting on June 23, 2025, brings over three decades of experience in the insurance sector. She previously served as Deputy General Manager, Corporate Marketing at Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc and as Managing Director of UTIB Insurance Brokers.

She is an alumna of Lagos Business School (AMP 25) and a Fellow of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Risk Managers Society of Nigeria. Outside of her professional life, she is a golfer and a member of Ikoyi Club 1938.

The Board expressed confidence in her ability to lead Fortis into its next phase of growth and innovation.
