New App Cuts Motor Insurance Claim Time from Weeks to Hours

InsurTech company FastClaim Solutions Limited has launched an AI-powered platform, the FastClaim App, designed to simplify, speed up, and enhance transparency in motor insurance claims.

According to the company, the app is already gaining adoption among insurance firms under the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA).

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Uche Okugo, explained that the platform was built to address challenges in claims processing through smart technology.

“With the FastClaim App, users can submit claims by capturing photos or videos of vehicle damage directly from their smartphones. The AI engine instantly analyses the images to assess damage, eliminating the need for physical inspections. This reduces resolution time from weeks to just a few hours,” Okugo said.

He added that many Nigerians still perceive insurers as delaying claims, but the app aims to change that by creating a transparent, user-friendly experience.

Although FastClaim does not settle claims directly, it enables insurers to work more efficiently while keeping customers updated in real time. The system reduces reliance on manual processes, cuts costs, and improves turnaround time for both insurers and policyholders.

The NIA commended the innovation, noting that the app generates pre-loss and post-loss inspection reports that aid in evaluating vehicles before and after incidents. It said automated inspections will free insurers from routine tasks, improve efficiency, and lower operational costs while allowing assessors to focus on complex risk evaluations.

The association added that adopting cutting-edge tools such as AI, data analytics, and advanced fraud detection will strengthen operations, underwriting, and risk management across the industry.
