Jumia Nigeria Appoints Temidayo Ojo as New CEO

Jumia, Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, has appointed Temidayo Ojo as the new Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria, marking a major leadership transition within the company.

The announcement, made on Monday, sees Ojo succeed Sunil Natraj, who led Jumia Nigeria during a critical period of economic and operational restructuring, helping to restore business growth and consumer confidence.

According to Jumia, Ojo’s promotion reflects the company’s strategic focus on empowering local leaders and nurturing in-house talent.

Ojo began his journey with Jumia in 2020 as Head of Planning and Performance. He later became Chief Commercial Officer before being appointed CEO of Jumia Ghana, where he successfully drove business growth and fostered a high-performance team culture.

“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with the leadership of Jumia Nigeria, a market that holds immense potential and strategic importance,” Ojo said.

“As someone who grew up in Nigeria and understands the unique needs of our customers and partners, this role is deeply personal to me. I look forward to working with our amazing team to drive greater impact, deepen customer trust, and take our business to new heights.”

Temidayo Ojo holds an MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Consulting from IESE Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos.

Welcoming the new CEO, Jumia Group CEO, Francis Dufay, said:

Jumia further announced that Seleem Musibau will take over as CEO of Jumia Ghana, succeeding Ojo.
