Omobolanle Honored with MediaConsortium Lifetime Achievement Award

In a warm gathering held at the Lekki office of the OVL Foundation in Lagos, family members, friends, and colleagues came together to celebrate Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan, a distinguished sustainability advocate, as she received the MediaConsortium Lifetime Achievement Award in Sustainability.

Omobolanle, currently the Chief Executive Officer of both Kratos Sustainability Consults Limited and the OVL Foundation, was recognized for her significant contributions to the advancement of sustainability in Nigeria and across Africa. Her leadership and pioneering efforts in the field, especially during her tenure as Head of Sustainability at Access Bank Plc, have helped shape how sustainability is perceived and practiced in the region.

Presenting the award, Tunji Faleye, Co-Publisher of MediaConsortium Magazine and convener of the award initiative, praised Omobolanle’s consistent impact over the years. “Her name is synonymous with sustainability in Nigeria. Leaving her out of any serious conversation on the subject would be an oversight,” he noted. Faleye added that the award aims to acknowledge and encourage impactful contributions while recipients are still alive to appreciate the honour.

Expressing her gratitude, Omobolanle shared that although she had received numerous accolades both locally and internationally, this particular award held special significance. “I usually send someone to receive awards on my behalf if I can’t attend, but this one felt different. It’s meaningful because it’s not about popularity; it’s about impact,” she said.

In a heartfelt speech, she credited her success to divine guidance and highlighted a few principles that have guided her journey: pursuing excellence, valuing people, staying true to one’s path, and always acknowledging God.

“God created us for a purpose, and we must delight Him in all we do,” she added.
The intimate but joyous celebration included board members of the OVL Foundation, close friends, and her supportive husband, Victor Laniyan, who beamed with pride throughout the event.
Attendees shared emotional tributes, affirming Omobolanle’s influence through various philanthropic and sustainability initiatives. All the speakers in the goodwill message attested to the impact of Mrs Omobolanle through her OVL Foundation in various capacities.

Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan is the Chief Executive Officer of OVL Foundation and Kratos Sustainability Consults Ltd. Her passion for affecting humanity have seen her taking up more active roles in OVL Foundation after leaving Access Bank, an organization she has worked for 16 years.
Meanwhile, OVL Foundation is currently running a program, Naija Youth Drive, in different parts of Nigeria- aimed at training a thousand youths between ages 18 and 45years in various vocation and technical skills.
The Asaba and Agbor leg flagged off in May and is expected to spread to other parts of the country.
The essence, according to OVL is to discourage youth menace and equip them with the right skillset for a better future. A couple of other projects are said to be running concurrently.
