Access Holdings Approves N125bn Dividend for 2024

Access Holdings Plc shareholders have approved a total dividend payout of N125.3 billion for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.
The approval came during the company’s Annual General Meeting held in Lagos, where shareholders praised the board and management for their strong performance and strategic growth initiatives.
The board proposed a final dividend of N2.05 per share, bringing the total dividend for the year to N2.50 per share.

Chairman Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede noted that the company’s strong financial results reflect a solid balance sheet and resilience amid economic challenges. He highlighted the firm’s successful capital raise of N351 billion through a rights issue, which positioned Access Bank as the first Nigerian bank to meet the Central Bank’s new minimum capital requirement of N500 billion, ahead of the 2026 deadline. This move boosted shareholders’ equity to N3.76 trillion.
The group also reported an 88% increase in gross earnings, rising from N2.59 trillion in 2023 to N4.88 trillion in 2024. Profit before tax grew from N729 billion to N867 billion.
Acting Group CEO, Bolaji Agbede, said the company experienced growth across key metrics and maintained a diversified and stable financial structure. She emphasized Access Holdings’ readiness to expand its presence in 22 countries across four continents and in sectors like investment management and technology.
She added, “We remain committed to responsible investment, sound risk management, and building lasting stakeholder relationships to ensure sustained value creation.”
The company posted a profit after tax of N642.2 billion for 2024, representing a 4% increase from N619.3 billion in 2023.
