Nigerian Stock Market Gains as Breweries Lead

The Nigerian stock market recorded gains on April 22, 2025, with the All-Share Index (ASI) rising 0.48% to 104,739.61 points.
Market capitalization increased to N65.8 trillion, reflecting positive investor sentiment.
Leading the gainers were International Breweries and Nigerian Breweries, which surged 10.00% and 9.94%, respectively. On the losing side, IntEnEgins and NSLTECH saw declines of 9.46% and 8.93%, respectively.
Despite the market’s upward movement, trading volume dipped slightly to 353 million shares, marking a 6% decrease from the previous session. ACCESSCORP and FIDELITYBANK dominated trading activity, with 38.6 million and 34.5 million shares exchanged, respectively.
In terms of trading value, ZENITHBANK led with N1.07 billion, followed by ACCESSCORP with N875.1 million, and FIDELITYBANK with N651.8 million.
The market outlook suggests a potential correction phase, with large- and mid-cap stocks expected to play a crucial role in stabilizing the index in the coming weeks.
