Temile Development Company Ltd has expanded its footprint in Nigeria’s gas sector with a new $250 million agreement signed with Hyundai Heavy Industries for the construction of a Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) with a capacity of 88,000 cubic meters.

This latest deal, finalized in London and including a construction supervision agreement with NLNG Shipping & Marine Limited, pushes the company’s total investment in Nigeria’s gas value chain to over $450 million over the last four years.

At the signing, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, described the development as a key contribution to the federal government’s ongoing ‘Decade of Gas’ initiative. Launched in 2021, the program aims to leverage Nigeria’s natural gas reserves to power industrial growth and drive economic diversification by 2030.

The minister commended the company’s commitment, highlighting its alignment with national priorities to strengthen domestic capacity and support local participation in the energy sector.

Alfred Temile, Chief Executive Officer of TDC, emphasized the company’s continued dedication to investing in Nigeria’s gas infrastructure and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve long-term sector goals.
