CBN Greenlights Greenwich Group Holding Company

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially approved the establishment of Greenwich Holdings Limited, a financial holding company that will oversee operations of Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited, Greenwich Asset Management Limited, and Greenwich Securities Limited. This approval positions Greenwich Group for market expansion and reinforces its presence as a key player in the financial services sector.
Ozena Utulu, Head of Corporate Communications for Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited, highlighted this development as a reflection of Greenwich’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and trustworthiness in the industry.
“Greenwich Holdings Limited signifies a new phase of exceptional growth, building on the foundation laid by Greenwich Trust Limited in 1994. From its beginnings as a financial adviser and issuing house, the firm transformed into Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited in 2020, following CBN’s approval,” Utulu stated.
Over three decades, Greenwich has broadened its reach within the financial sector through subsidiaries such as Greenwich Registrars and Data Solution Limited and Greenwich Trustees Limited. The establishment of Greenwich Holdings Limited marks a pivotal moment in the company’s journey.
