Innovate, a non-governmental organization under Crosspoint Church, has rolled out the third edition of its annual Pitch & Grant program, with Credit Direct serving as the headline sponsor.

The initiative is designed to empower Nigerian entrepreneurs by awarding $2000 to the most promising business idea.

This year’s edition continues Innovate’s mission to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among Nigerian youth, providing essential funding to help startups and small businesses thrive in an increasingly competitive environment.

According to Ladi Soyombo, Founder and Convener of Innovate, the program represents a commitment to nurturing young business minds. “Innovation has the power to reshape communities, and through this program, we want to support entrepreneurs who are driving change with bold, impactful ideas,” Soyombo said.

In the 2024 edition, OneGrid Energies claimed the top prize for transforming discarded plastic bottles into low-cost rechargeable lanterns, earning $2000 in recognition of its innovative solution. The event attracted a diverse pool of entrepreneurs from across Nigeria, with six finalists presenting their ventures.

Applications for this year’s Pitch & Grant program opened on March 1, 2025, and will close on March 23, 2025. Entrepreneurs can apply by visiting www.cpinnovate.org, where submissions will be assessed by a panel of experts based on innovation, market potential, sustainability, and social impact. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email and invited to pitch their business ideas to the judges.

Previous editions of the program have featured an impressive lineup of panelists and facilitators, including Olumide Soyombo (Co-founder, Bluechip Technologies and Voltron Capital), Adia Sohwo (Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria), and Joshua Chibueze (Co-founder, Piggyvest), among other notable industry leaders.

Beyond financial backing, Innovate aims to cultivate a strong community of entrepreneurs, bound by shared values of innovation, inclusion, and impact. The program emphasizes building lasting connections and fostering collaboration among participants.
