Tinubu Grants Automatic Employment to 774 Health Fellows

President Bola Tinubu has assured automatic employment to 774 participants of the National Health Fellows Programme.
Speaking at the official launch of the initiative in Abuja, Tinubu addressed the fellows assigned to oversee primary healthcare centres (PHCs) across all 774 local government areas, declaring, “You are hired,” and promising them job placements after their one-year tenure.
His announcement followed an appeal from the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, who urged federal, state, and local authorities to absorb the fellows into the health workforce to strengthen universal health coverage.
The National Health Fellows Programme, designed to drive innovation and impactful reforms in the health sector, selected its participants through a merit-based process from a pool of over 359,000 applicants.
This initiative is a significant component of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s primary healthcare system.
