Dr. Daere Akobo, Chairman of panaholdings, has been named one of the global power leaders for 2025 by White Page International.

With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Dr. Akobo has extensive expertise in electrical, instrumentation, condition and vibration monitoring, flow metering processes, and procurement.

In his early career, Dr. Akobo worked with the International Petroleum Company of Nigeria as an Electrical Instrumentation Superintendent before joining TOTAL E&P as a Technical Stock Controller supporting the Procurement Department. At General Electric Nigeria, he was instrumental in quadrupling sales during 2007-2008, showcasing his business acumen and conflict resolution skills, and was awarded “top talent” across Africa.

In 2009, recognizing the need to bridge the gap between user expectations and market offerings in Nigeria’s Oil & Gas industry, he founded Plant Engineering Limited, later renamed PE Energy Limited.

Dr. Akobo holds a degree in Applied Physics and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, INSEAD Business School, and Manchester Business School. He has received multiple excellence awards, including the “Super Vendor Delivery Performance Award” from Shell and the “Honeywell EMEA Best Sales Award.” He is a trusted figure for international businesses entering Nigeria.
