Wema Bank Makes Big Announcement After Increasing Workers’ Salaries
Wema Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting female-owned businesses in Nigeria and announced its continued sponsorship of the 2025 NBC Trade Fair.
The announcement coincides with the bank’s 80th anniversary and highlights its focus on women-led enterprises.
“With eight local fairs and an international edition in London, over 4,450 SMEs participated, with 85% being female-led,” Wema Bank stated. “These achievements reflect Wema Bank’s dedication to fostering women’s economic growth.”

In addition, Wema Bank has implemented a new salary structure for its 1,700 employees effective March 2025. Executive trainees will now earn approximately N541,000 per month (up from N255,000), while assistant banking officers’ salaries increase from N681,000 to N830,000. Senior banking officers will receive upwards of N1.2 million monthly.
